EVEN ANGELS

I try my best, oh Lord
But would like to do more
And I dreamt that I,
An angel of love,
Went down and gathered
All the sad tears
All the bad fears
Throughout the world
And just cast them aside.
And, in their place,
I spread tranquility,
Hope for the hopeless.
Unselfishness for the selfish,
Love for the unloved---
But then I abruptly awoke.

Even angels can dream,
Can't they, Lord?
