SUICIDE

            Silent moon is witness
As she stares into the water
Regret and sorrow fight their duel
In her heart, these things are cruel
            And though she knows
            It does not matter
She has come to seek forgiveness

Lost in the shroud Of her perceptions She kneels, head bowed in prayer And her soul opens Layer by layer Exposing all of her deceptions

What lies beneath Makes her weep For once she thought Herself so fair But now she seeks The moon's embrace In hopes its coldness can erase Her bitter musings from the air Until silence does bequeath The final sleep

Attractive is the coward's choice Oh! goodnight sweet child of pain Foolish you are to die in vain Tragic, to murder your own voice
